Day 02 - 08/04/22 - At Sea to Sydney

When was the last time you were encased in fog for nearly 24 hours on a ship?  This was us today as the ship plied the NE Atlantic waters on its way to the port at Sydney, Nova Scotia.  The foghorn blew all day and night on two minute intervals. It was especially loud in the Lido pool area where we ate corned beef sandwiches for dinner and later a movie,"Dog."

During the day we watched a shore excursion presentation and attended a cruise critic meet & greet as well as an excellent lecture on the Arctic environment by guest lecturer, Michael Douglas.  He'll be doing 5 more lectures. Because of a scheduling conflict, we had to miss wine tasting.

While it was 'dressy' night, we wanted a lighter meal so we enjoyed corned beef sandwiches on deck 10 in the NY Pizza area.  The TV were quite good.

The evening was led off by the Captain's toast where Captain Eric Barhorst didn't toast, but gave a short speech and introduced his senior officers. We were given drinks instead of coupons for the first time since cruising began. Entertainment this evening was by Cantaré, a four person male quartet. They were excellent and we're seen the group previously with mostly different cast members.

The evening ended with a visit to the 10:30pm buffet where they served an excellent mixed seafood dish.

Here's hoping the fog clears by tomorrow.
