Day -02 - 08/01/22 - Home to Boston

It was a very short night to begin this trip.  Around 12:30am local time we began the process of our proctored Covid-19 antigen tests and were finished by 1:30am.  Our pastor was picking us up at 5:15am, so it was a very short night's sleep.

Check in at SeaTac airport was smooth and soon we were at our C9 gate with an hour and a half wait.  A new friend from Cruise Critic (a cruise planning website) and his wife spotted us and we spent our waiting time getting to know Ed & June.  We're going to be on the cruise together.

The flight was departed 15 minutes late but was smooth. During the flight  I finished uploading our negative test results to the ship's checkin software (Verifly).  It's nice having T-Mobile as our cell phone carrier as text and data is free while traveling on Alaska Airlines! After landing in Boston, we collected our luggage and walked the labyrinth to the ride share pick up area where we quickly found our driver.  It was a very short trip to the downtown Hilton which would be our lodging for two nights.

We dropped off our luggage in the room and immediately headed out to check out the nearby Quincy market that I had spotted on the drive to the hotel.  It's filled with over 100 food vendors and we returned to it for a shrimp and crab salad dinner ($60) after a pleasant walk around the nearby waterfront. Lots of people were out enjoying the pleasant afternoon and evening.  During that walk we purchased tickets ($30/pp) for a Summer Nights trolley tour which started at 7:15.

The 90 minute trolley tour was packed & excellent and we met a couple from India who was on vacation here from Toronto. It refreshed our memories of Boston and led us to purchase theater tickets to the new Neil Diamond tribute play, A Beautiful Noise which we'll attend tomorrow night.  During the tour I was a bit drowsy from lack of sleep and it wasn't hard to fall asleep once we walked back to the hotel.

Tomorrow we're planning to explore some of the Freedom Trail and possibly the USS Constitution before attending the theater in the evening.
